The journey from Srinagar to Manali via Leh is one of the most scenic road trips in India.   • Your day begins on a positive note as you wake up to a beautiful morning on Day 2. Get ready for the amazing journey ahead! Your biking trip starts after breakfast with the drive towards Sonmarg, one of the most scenic resort towns in the region. After ascending Zoji La, descend the mountain pass to enter Ladakh.
  • Get acquainted with some amazing facts about the Kargil War at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass Village.
  • As the day winds down, enjoy dinner and stay overnight in Kargil.

220 kms | 5 hrs | 11,483 ft

  • The next leg of the motorbike trip includes crossing two high-altitude mountain passes. 
  • After leaving Kargil, the first pass is Mulbek, where we will see a life-size Maitreya Buddha sculpture. Next, we cross Lamayuru, which houses one of Ladakh’s oldest monasteries. Lamayuru is also called Moon Land. 
  • Experience divinity at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and experience the intriguing phenomenon of Magnetic Hills.
  • After arriving in Leh, check in at the hotel for the night. 

60 kms | 2-3 hrs | 17,851 ft

  • Take a scenic and exhilarating ride to the Nubra Valley as part of the Srinagar to Manali Motorbike Expedition. Drive to Nubra Valley through Khardung La, the highest motorable road on earth.
  • At Nubra Valley, which is located next to the Nubra River, spend a wonderful evening exploring the place and a relaxing night at the hotel.

300 kms | 8 hrs | 12000 ft

  • Day 5 is when we undertake the ‘The Great Siachen Base Camp’ Excursion and experience adventure at its best.
  • Base Camp is located at an altitude of 12000 ft above sea level. Siachen is the highest battlefield in the world.
  • If visiting Siachen is not permitted, you will be taken for a wonderful excursion to Turtuk, the last village on the Indo-Pak border in Ladakh.
  • We will stay overnight in Nubra.

160 kms | 4-5 hrs | 10000 ft

  • On Day 6, leave behind the bleak landscape and move towards the pristine Pangong Lake. The road will take you through the newly opened Shyok Village (a place that tourists were not allowed to access earlier). 
  • When you reach the shores of this enchanted water body, you will be amazed by its beauty and vivid colours.
  • Later that evening, transfer to the campsite for a bonfire and an evening of relaxation in nature.

160 kms | 4-5 hrs | 14835 ft

  • Day 7 brings a unique adventure, with Pangong Tso’s scenic views and stunning landscapes. Before leaving for Leh, breakfast will be served. Cross Chang La (17,590 ft), the second-highest pass of the world, is considered one of the toughest to cross in the world. Leh and the Changthang Plateau are connected by this pass. There is a small lake called Tsoltak that we can see before climbing the Mighty Pass. 
  • There will be a descent into Shakti, a beautiful village, after crossing the pass, and the journey continues toward the Manali-Leh Highway.
  • Upon arrival in Leh, roam around the city and rest for the night here. 

150 kms / 250 kms | 13783 ft

  • In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, continue journeying toward Sarchu/Jispa. Take in the panoramic views of the mighty mountains and colours of nature as you travel through the mountains of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
  • Ascend Tanglang La, the third-highest pass (17,480 ft). Pass through the Morey-Plains, an astounding plateau at a height of 15,500 ft with a 45-km stretch of flat road. After crossing Lachung La (16,616 ft) and Nakee La (15,547 ft), reach the famous Gata Loops (21 hairpin bends).
  • From here, you will be able to reach your destination by nightfall.

12 kms / 200 kms  | 10,500 ft

  • Your bike adventure is nearing its end as Day 9 approaches. Ride along the iconic route of Atal Tunnel and some of the most scenic villages in Lahaul Valley.
  • Upon arrival in Manali, check in at your pre-booked hotel and rest for the night. 

  • Get ready for the last day of the Srinagar-Leh-Manali Motorbike Expedition at daybreak. 
  • Following a delicious breakfast, explore Manali at leisure and by late afternoon, board the volvo bus to Delhi for an overnight journey.

Each booking allows for a maximum of two rescheduling opportunities. After which, no further changes can be made to the booking.

Any price differences resulting from rescheduling, such as changes in seasonal rates or availability, will be applicable and will be communicated to the customer during the rescheduling process.

In the event that a customer requests a rescheduling but fails to attend the newly scheduled appointment, it will be considered a missed appointment, and our standard cancellation policy will apply

  • Since ladakh is a rough terrain, a bike with powerful engine and strong build is preferable. The ideal bike for this trip is RE 350cc, RE Classic 500cc, RE Himalayan, RE Thunderbird, Bajaj Avenger and in adventure bikes, you can try KTM Duke, KTM Adventure 390.

  • Yes, it is absolutely safe for solo riders to bring their own bike and join the group if they are a good rider. The group departure has an experienced tour marshal along with a mechanic and a backup vehicle. Thus, you can enjoy this adventure with maximum safety.

  • Yes, there will be an experienced tour marshal during the entire trip.

  • Please read the product detail page carefully for things to carry for the trip.

  • The best time to visit for a Ladakh Bike Trip is from May to October, during this time all the winter snow starts melting resulting in clear and dry roads. Autumn and summer are the best time, as there are a lot of festival celebrations in the town, which makes it more appealing for tourists.

  • Yes, there are age & weight restrictions for this trip. The age limit is 18 to 50. The weight limit is 50 to 100 Kgs as long as there is no medical history or condition involved. Please consult your doctor before visiting the trip

 

  • The accommodations will be provided in standard hotels/ guest houses and camps on Single/ Twin/ Triple sharing basis of your selection.

  • Breakfast and dinner are included in the trip from Dinner on Day 01 to Breakfast on Day 10.

  • If you are a frequent bike rider then this trip is perfect for you. If you are not a rider then you can join the trip as a pillion with your rider partner or get a seat on a backup vehicle.

  • Every day you will be doing a ride of minimum 5 to 6 hours and it may extend depending on the cumulative speed of the group and halts taken during the trip.

  • You can enjoy river rafting, camping, double humped camel ride and ATV rides during this trip at your expense. It is not a part of the package being offered.

  • If you are going for this expedition during the month of Jan to March, you may experience snow on the trail. In the summer, the snow melts completely and the weather is bright and sunny.

Below are the additional charges that may incur and are not included in the package cost:

  • A refundable security deposit of INR 10,000 in cash will have to be paid on arrival to the vendor partner for the Bike.
  • Personal expenses.
  • Any detours that you may take or places that you visit which are not a part of the itinerary.
  • Entry fees of any attractions.

  • For riders with their own bikes, all the documents related to the vehicle are mandatory like insurance, RC and Driving license a valid Id & address proof. For other riders, id proof and valid driving license is required.
  • The local permits required will be arranged by our vendor partner however a valid Id proof & address proof, the booking voucher along with your declaration form is required.

 

  • The best way to reach Srinagar is by flight. Named Sheikh ul Alam Airport, Srinagar Airport is an international airport. This airport is well connected and airlines offer regular flights from Srinagar to Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh. The airport is located just 15 km away from the center of the city.
  • You can reach Srinagar by Train, one has to reach either Jammu Tawi or Udhampur railway station. The stations are well connected with different parts of India. From these stations, you can hire taxis, private as well as the state government buses to reach this magnificent place.
  • Srinagar is the capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The city is well connected with major cities like Delhi (876 km), Chandigarh (646 km), Leh (424 km) and Jammu (258 km). There is good Bus service and Cab service available.

  • Full Refund– If cancelled before 15 days of scheduled departure.
  • No Refund– If cancelled within 15 days of scheduled departure.

  • The payment policy is 100% at booking.

  • In case of extreme bad weather, government restriction or political disturbance, if any activity is cancelled, then the operator will suggest the best possible alternative. However, a cash refund is not applicable. In case of a change in itinerary due to weather, any additional expenses must be borne by the traveler.

  • AMS or Acute Mountain Sickness is caused by the quick exposure to low oxygen levels at high altitude. Symptoms of AMS include nausea, fatigue, rapid heart rate and headache to name a few.
  • In case of any symptoms, please inform your tour marshal immediately, if there is any discomfort and oxygen levels drop, Backup oxygen cylinder is provided as an immediate relief and the customer is taken to the nearest hospital and moved to a lower altitude region. Once the doctor certifies that you are fit to travel, you can resume the trip or you will be advised to travel back home.

 

  • Any changes in your schedule pertaining to airlines or transportation will result in a change in the entire itinerary. The operator will suggest the best alternative possible in this case. However, a refund for any missed inclusions will not be provided and any extra cost incurred to rearrange the itinerary will be borne by the traveler.

Next, we cross Lamayuru, also called Moon Land due to its lunar-like landscape. Explore the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, a hidden gem nestled amongst the cliffs. Experience the spiritual atmosphere of Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a Sikh pilgrimage site perched atop a hillock. As you continue your journey, defy gravity and experience the intriguing phenomenon of the Magnetic Hills, where cars appear to climb uphill on their own!  Finally, arrive in Leh, the heart of Ladakh, and check in at your hotel for the night.

60 Kms | 2-3 hrs | 17,851 ft.

Day 4 is all about conquering the mighty Khardung La, the world’s highest motorable road. Brace yourself for breathtaking views and the thrill of riding at such a high altitude.  As you descend into Nubra Valley, a paradise nestled between the Himalayas and the Karakoram ranges, be mesmerised by the stark beauty of the desert landscape. Spend the evening exploring the valley located next to the Nubra River and unwind overnight at your hotel.

300 kms | 8 hrs | 12000 ft

Day 5 offers a chance to choose your adventure! Embark on the ‘The Great Siachen Base Camp’ Excursion, a challenging yet rewarding journey to the world’s highest battlefield. Witness the stark beauty of the Siachen Glacier and experience the resilience of the Indian soldiers guarding the borders.

Alternatively, explore the unique village of Turtuk, nestled in the Shyok Valley bordering Pakistan. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of this hidden gem, distinct from Ladakh due to its historic ties with Central Asia. Regardless of your choice, the night will be spent back in Nubra Valley, reflecting on the day’s experiences.

On Day 6, bid farewell to the stark landscapes of Nubra Valley and embark on a journey towards the captivating Pangong Lake.  En route, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the newly opened Shyok Village, previously inaccessible to tourists. This hidden gem offers a glimpse into the traditional way of life in this remote region.  As you reach the shores of Pangong Lake, a high-altitude lake known for its phenomenal colours, be prepared to be awestruck by its beauty.  Later that evening, transfer to the campsite for a bonfire and a night under the starlit sky, surrounded by the serenity of the lake.

160 kms | 5-6 hrs | 17,590 ft.

Day 7 brings a final challenge before returning to Leh. After breakfast, get ready to conquer Chang La, the world’s second-highest motorable pass. Brace yourself for breathtaking panoramic views and the chance to see the Tsoltak Lake, a small but serene jewel nestled amidst the mountains.  Descending from the pass, you’ll arrive in Shakti, a charming village with a distinct culture.  From here, the journey continues towards the Manali-Leh Highway.  Upon arrival in Leh, celebrate your accomplishment and enjoy the opportunity to explore the city’s vibrant markets and historical sites before resting for the night.

After a hearty breakfast on Day 8, it’s time to tackle another leg of the journey. As you depart Leh, soak in the panoramic vistas of the mighty mountains and the ever-changing colours of nature.  Prepare to conquer Tanglang La, the third-highest motorable pass in the world, offering a breathtaking experience.  Traverse the vast Morey Plains, a high-altitude plateau known for its flat expanse stretching for 45 km.  Cross Lachung La and Nakee La, adding to your collection of conquered passes.  Finally, reach the famed Gata Loops, a series of 21 hairpin bends that will test your riding skills.  By nightfall, you’ll arrive at your destination in either Sarchu or Jispa, nestled amidst the stunning scenery of the Himalayas.

As Day 9 dawns, your motorbike adventure nears its end.  Embark on a scenic ride along the iconic Atal Tunnel, a marvel of engineering that cuts through the mighty Himalayas.  Wind your way through the picturesque villages of the Lahaul Valley, stopping to admire the traditional architecture and soak in the local charm.  Finally, celebrate reaching Manali, the end point of your journey. Check into your pre-booked hotel and spend the evening reminiscing about your incredible adventure.

Get ready for the last day of your expedition. After a delicious breakfast, explore Manali at your leisure.  Stroll through the bustling Mall Road, visit the Tibetan Monastery, or soak in the beauty of Vashisht Springs. In the late afternoon, board your pre-booked Volvo bus to Delhi for your overnight journey home, carrying with you unforgettable memories of your epic motorbike adventure through the Himalayas.
