- Reach Sankri after a day’s road trip.
- Overnight stay at Sankri.
- Start the much-awaited trek towards Juda ka Talab, located at a height of 9,100 feet.
- On your way, you will also witness a dreamy view of Goliath Lake on the left and thick pine and oak backwoods on the other side.
- During the trek, you may spot the exotic Himalayan Langur, Boars, Hares, and even Martens.
- Finish off the day with some hot food and overnight stay in a camp.
- Wake up to a beautiful sunrise, and after a wholesome breakfast, start your trek to the Kedarkantha base, situated at 11,250 feet.
- It should take you between 4 to 5 hours from Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base.
- The trail keeps getting steeper as you move towards the Kedarkantha Base.
- The trek will start through dense forests and will continue to pass through steep ridges.
- Gear yourself up, as you will soon witness the most stunning views of nature.
- As you finally reach the base camp, you will see different snow-covered ranges, including Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Naag, and Ranglana.
- Enjoy a delicious dinner in your tent.
- The fourth day is going to be rather challenging.
- Head towards the Kedarkantha peak.
- You will trek from 11,250 feet to 12,500 feet for almost 6 km.
- Witness the magical colours of nature and the beautiful sights of mountain ranges including Rupin.
- Upon reaching Kedarkantha, treat your eyes to the splendid views of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Naag, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
- As you reach the summit, you will be left spellbound by the magic that nature offers.
- Visit the small temple nearby dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati along with a shrine of Lord Ganesh.
- Take in the magnificence and head back to the Juda ka Talab/ Hargaon Camp by noon.
- Overnight stay in the camp.
- This is the second last day of the trek.
- Head back to Sankri from Juda Ka Talab after breakfast.
- This trek will take you almost 4 hours, and is comparatively a simple one with a clearly marked paved pathway.
- This is the last day of the trip.
- After breakfast, proceed towards Dehradun from Sankri.

- The best time to go for this trek is from December to March. If you wish to experience snow. This trek is best experienced as a snow trek. During this time the temperature lies between –2 degrees to 12 degrees Celsius.
- The starting point for this trek is Dehradun. You can reach here directly by train or by flight. Jolly grant airport is the nearest airport situated in Dehradun. You can also take a bus to reach Dehradun.
- The maximum altitude of this trek is 12500 ft.

- The difficulty level for this trek is moderate to difficult. The highest altitude is 12500 ft. The trekking trail will include dense forest, jungles and rocky trails. Therefore, the trek requires you to have a good amount of physical strength, experience and endurance. During this trek, you will also witness shining streams, landscapes, rich flora and fauna.
Only Veg meals will be provided on the trek as per below mentioned itinerary –
- Day 1 – Dinner only.
- Day 2 to Day 5 – Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
- Day 6 – Breakfast only.
- This is a moderate to difficult trek and will require physical strength , Recommendation to get physically fit is to start working out atleast a month before the trek.
- To gain stamina, you can try Cardio and running along with stretching every day to strengthen your muscles and work on your flexibility.
- As a preparation cover 5 kms in 30 mins.
- The total trek distance is 24 kms and the time it will take you to complete the same is 4-5 hours a day.
- In case you are sick and not able to complete the trek, you will be sent down to the base camp depending on the circumstances. Kindly note that a refund or reschedule for the same is not applicable. Any extra expenses incurred during this transfer will be borne by the traveler.

Get ready to witness some of the most beautiful views as the Kedarkantha Winter Trek starts from Dehradun. The trekkers need to arrive at Dehradun before 6 AM. By 6:30 AM, start your drive to Sankri. Located on National Highway 123, the drive from Dehradun to Sankri is breathtaking, as the route is laden with valleys and forests. As you are about to reach Sankri, the landscape drastically changes, and you will feel suddenly closer to the mighty Himalayas.
En route, you will also pass the Govind National Park, known for its diverse range of exotic plant life. For trekkers, the Sankri village in Uttarakhand is referred to as the route to the Paradise of the Himalayas. The village offers some of the best views of the Himalayan skyline. Finally, spend the night at Sankri.
Wake up with the break of dawn and start the much-awaited trek towards Juda ka Talab. Located at a height of 9,100 feet the trek takes you through a route where the lush pine and maple forests unwind on both sides. As you trail upward, you will witness small, beautiful huts alongside the fields, creating scenery straight out of a fairytale. The trail further unfolds with a captivating view on your left – a dreamlike Goliath lake reflecting the surrounding beauty. On your right, dense pine and oak forest vegetation adds a different level of visual charm to your journey. Be alert, as you might even get to witness a Himalayan langur, boars, hares, and even martens. Finally, as you reach the campsite, call it a day with a delicious dinner and an overnight stay under the starlit sky.
Wake up as the morning dawns and, following a hearty breakfast, embark on the trek towards Kedarkantha Base Camp. Nestled at 11,250 feet, the journey from Juda Ka Talab is estimated to take 4-5 hours. The initial path winds through dense forests, gradually transforming into steeper inclines as you climb. You must pay close attention to your guide’s instructions and utilise the skills to navigate snow slopes. Even though it might be a steep climb, the evolving landscape will leave you awestruck, with each turn unveiling a new wonder. As you finally reach the base camp, prepare to be captivated by the majestic panorama of snow-capped peaks. The Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Naag, and Ranglana ranges unfold a breathtaking display of nature’s grandeur, which can only be experienced with your own eyes. After reaching the base camp, finish your day with a delicious dinner in the comfort of your tent.
Brace yourself for a challenging yet rewarding day as you embark for the summit of the Kedarkantha peak. The trek covers roughly 6 km and increases from 11,250 feet to 12,500 feet, with steeper sections along the route. Along the way, you will be mesmerised by the ever-changing colours of the landscape and the captivating sights of mountain ranges like Rupin.
Upon reaching the summit, prepare to awaken by the most breathtaking panoramic views. Witness the majestic peaks of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Naag, Gangotri, and Yamunotri in all their glory. After reaching the summit, descend back to Juda ka Talab by noon. Spend the rest of the day reliving the experience in a comfortable campsite.
After having a wholesome breakfast, head back to Sankri from Juda ka Talab. Spend the night at Sankri at a comfortable accommodation.
This is the last day of the trip. After a wholesome breakfast start your journey back towards Dehradun. Return home with a bag full of fond memories thus concluding the adventure.
